Winter Forecast 2019
Not for definite, and my personal opinion, from what I've seen.
I think in February we will see our coldest and snowiest conditions, I do believe it could be quite severe, probably one of the coldest Februaries of this decade. Definitely colder than February 2013, in my opinion and probably colder than 2018, and possibly competing with or beating 2010. In my personal opinion at this stage.
However in February, I do make it clear that is when I see the severe conditions beginning to develop, with cold temperatures, and quite snowy conditions.
There will be teasers in both January and December I think of a few days of quite chilly conditions, no exceptional prolonged cold though, in December and January.
In March, I'll make a post reviewing the winter and my winter forecast, not official date confirmed yet. We'll see if I did well or not.

I think this Winter personally will be quite chilly, becoming colder, with a quite chilly December, (not overly cold) with some snow, possibly similar to last year, but I think the snow in December won't come as early as 2017, probably a bit later. I don't think that December 2018, will be a severe cold month, no December 2009, 1995, or 2010 (of course) But I don't see a overly mild December like 2015, 2016 etc. I do think that December 2018 will probably be similar to 2017, in terms of temperatures possibly a bit milder. Overall quite an average month in terms of rainfall, due to a very mild and unsettled first half, we'll probably see some northerly incursions giving a few snow showers, we will probably see high pressure interludes more than usual, but at the same time I don't think this December will solely be dominated by high pressure.
This December will probably be one of the cooler Decembers of this decade, unsurprising really after a run of quite mild Decembers, bar 2012, and 2017, (which were a bit mild-close to average but not overly so), but other than 2010 we haven't had many quite cold Decembers. Temperature-wise we could be similar to 2017 in terms of temperatures possibly slightly milder, Milder than average first half, chilly period in part of the second half, and maybe an unsettled end to December .
I think January 2019, will see chilly conditions, not severely cold though. But I think we'll see quite a few snowfalls once again, I don't think we'll see as much snow in January 2019, as 2013, but nonetheless I don't think it'll be a poor January for people who enjoy snow, compared to Januaries of recent. I do think we'll see some Atlantic influences here and there, but I don't think we'll see a long run of continuous Atlantic influences, overall probably a quiet month, I think most of the unsettled weather will be restricted to the first part of January, becoming quieter, and cooler as we advance, in the month. Temperature-wise probably similar to 2013 as of this decade, but as I said, probably not as snowy as that, quieter, chilly, high pressure interludes again, but not excessively dominated by high pressure. I don't see any exceptionally mild continuous conditions, but I can't rule out the odd milder interlude of course.

We will see our coldest conditions in February 2019, and we will see our most snowfall in February too in my opinion, probably quite problematic snowfalls too. I think February 2019 will be dominated predominantly by easterly winds, bitterly cold at times.
Overall I think this winter will be quite chilly, not exceptionally cold winter, I think this winter will be cooler than most recent winters, including 2017/18. Probably the coolest since 2012/13, probably on par or cooler than that in my opinion, due to the cold February.
In my opinion it will be a chilly winter for the most part. Not much in the way of severely cold temperatures in December and January, although there will probably be some very cold days, and some severe weather mixed in like ice, and snow, but temperatures wise I'm not seeing a significant spell of severely cold continuous temperatures, it'll be chilly and seasonable though.
