Lincoln, Lincolnshire

Lincoln, Lincolnshire A town, in the West of Lincolnshire, with quite a small population of around 94k for a city. Although some recent estimates put the population at around 97k. And future estimates expect Lincoln to have a population of around 104k by 2029. Lincolnshire as a whole is becoming one of the fastest growing counties in the UK, with many people choosing to move due to cheap house prices, lifestyle, and relatively low crime rates. Lincoln is  often forgotten due to being out of the way of major areas, roads etc. However it sports lots of major landmarks such as the Cathedral which once held the title of being the tallest building in the world for around 200 years. Also the Castle in Lincoln houses a castle which holds one of the most important documents in British/English Legal History, the Magna Carta. Lincoln is a reletively spacious city, and spans for about 13 square miles officially, although all of the urban area of Lincoln, and North Hykeham makes t

Lavender

Lavender The origins of Lavender originate from around India, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East, and has been used for more than 2,500 years. Lavender should be planted between April and May when the soil is much warmer, and the chance of cold snaps becomes less likely. However once established Lavender is a hardy plant, and thrives in most free-draining soils, and it is fairly drought resistant, and can usually thrive in partially dry climates. In more heavier soils, like clay and clay loam,  Lavender can struggle a bit, however to minimalise this struggle you should add organic matter to the soil, and gravel to improve the drainage of the soil. This will help to prolong the life of the Lavender plant. Lavender growing in a quaint field Lavender is fairly flexible in it's uses, it can be used as an ingredient to add flavour to things like bakery goods, salads, meat, and much more, it adds sort of a floral taste to the meal/dessert, and it is slightly sw

Spring Forecast

Spring Forecast March I'm expecting an unsettled, chillier than average or average start to March but not particularly cold. But quite quickly I expect high pressure to reestablish over the UK, possibly mid-month. Which for a time could bring quite mild weather for March. I expect it to become quite a bit drier also, maybe very dry, the dry weather could be alleviated in some areas by one off downpours here and there. In my personal opinion, I do think we could see some exceptionally mild weather later in March too. That's just my opinion. April in my view I think things may switch a bit to be on the cooler side, northerly winds could become prominent in this month, I do think there could be some snowfall when we do get northerly winds but whereabouts is obviously unknown at this stage. But personally I think April will be a cooler than average or average month. Rainfall I think it could be a bit drier than average for some parts or on the average side. (Here
