Top 3 Autumns In My Lifetime.
We had a cracking September!, very interesting to me we had incredibly hot days in that month and it was quite sunny from what I remember of it, and for the most of the month I remember being in T-Shirts generally. I honestly loved that month, and would love to see another September play out like this one in my opinion, then we moved on into October wasn't too bad mostly dry here, and crisp mornings I remember that.
I remember a few showers occasionally passing through here and there giving us some rain but leaving with blue skies, it wasn't a particularly exciting month, but generally it was quiet, to me it felt more Spring-like, there wasnt generally any Atlantic storms, and the rain wasn't prolonged, and it was mild-ish. The rain came in short showers, passing then revealing gorgeous blue skies.
Onto November, I remember it being quite a cool month in November (my favourite), but I generally dont think I saw any snow that month, I think the first snowfall I saw during the snow season of 2016-17 was possibly January 2017 for a bit.
I remember it being quite foggy that month too, it felt like winter just without all the snow.
And I remember continously looking at the Met Office Long Range Posts at school to see whether this cool weather would carry on, and I remember for much of their post updates they said yes, but generally as we went on into December things changed a bit.
Autumn 2012
I was only young at this time, but I remember the prolonged cool weather throughout Autumn of 2012, I think it was quite dull too, where I was, which Im not complaining about because I like dull Autumns, and when I was swimming looking out onto the dull foggy weather with the lights on outside was quite comforting
September 2012
Wasn't too bad, nice and warm right at the start before, going downhill later on, there was some fog around in this month to make it nice and Autumnal, and generally it got really cold as the month progressed which I didn't hate tbh, it was quite cozy as the nights were drawing in.
There was some rain, heavy rain here and there I remember that, but it was annoying trying to get home in it, being all cold and wet, and trying not to slip down the hill in my new school shoes.
So September 2012 wasn't exactly special on it's own terms for me, but it was a nice basic cool month, and I didn't hate that.
October I guess is where my memory is relatively stronger, I remember it being pretty cold throughout to be honest, I remember being in the school swimming pool, and looking out at the dreary and cold weather outside, it was quite relaxing really.
And towards the end of the month it was snowing, I couldnt believe it set in some parts too, I remember everyone in my history class at the time was astonished by this cool air and snow.
November
This month was quite interesting too because the beginning was quite cold actually for me I remember, but I also remember a lot of rain in the middle half of November too, so this November wasn't a bore fest by any means, quite chilly and autumnal which I like.
Autumn 2017
I remembered September, as being quite cool and wet here, it was very autumnal, which I liked, I remember there were some foggy days too. It made a change after that hot September previously.
I was shocked at how cold it was strangely, I remember a 12 Max day I think, when I was going to post some letters.
October was quite memorable, it was quite dull, and mild I think, dry too. But the thing that sticks out for me was the really humid day because of Hurricane Ophelia bringing up Humid air and making the sun red, that was gorgeous, the first time ive ever felt humidity on that level before, and the red sun, I filmed all of it.
Towards the end of the month I believe it started to cool down a bit more (I may be wrong) and become a bit more autumnal which was nice and refreshing.
November began on a cool note a believe I think Bonfire Night wasnt too mild either, it was only .2 degrees warmer than 2016 here so it was quite a cool month for us.
I dont remember any potent storms really during that month, I think for us it was quite, and nice, and cool a bit like winter.
Then the end of November came and the northerly in November struck, and we had our earliest snowfall for a number of years which was quite fascinating, and exiting seeing it.
Out of them all I think Autumn 2016 was my absolute fave, a lovely September and gradually cooling throughout the Autumn to November, where it was quite cold throughout, and lovely. It was the coldest November since 2010, too.
So if I had to live through any other past Autumn in my lifetime it'd be 2016.
