Looking Ahead with the GFS- October
Short Blog now as we inch closer, and closer to October. Things aren't looking particularly interesting from the GFS model which shows up until the end September and into the start of October, high pressure will take charge, and stick with us for a while it seems going by the GFS view anyways. And many long range forecasters do see a high pressure dominated October, as do I at this point, so could this be a hint that October may be high pressure galore, who knows.
Just before we talk more about models etc, I'd like to stress that this isn't my October forecast that goes out on the 28th of September, this is merely just using a GFS model to see what the start of October looks like etc.
Temperature wise going by todays GFS update it looks like we'll be heading into October with high pressure, and mild temperatures, not extremely mild tho by any means, just a few degrees milder. Which seems nice, and the high pressure seems to stick by us which will leave us with calm, fresh, air, relatively mild temperatures for the time of year and chilly nights. Which is perfect conditions for the trees now changing colour.
With that High Pressure, of course the GFS doesn't anymore significant rains/storms upcoming but there'll still be scattered showers around, here and there, so we might be starting October on a dry note, which is a nice quiet beginning to 'real' Autumn as I like to call it.
