First Update, Watching Helene
Helene is expected so far to strike the UK, as a low pressure system, windstorm. Not a Hurricane, so far looking at the GFS run it seems she could strike next week on around Tuesday, she could be bringing 60-70MPH to Western areas in particularly, and parts of the South West could see rather strong winds too, as that's where the storm is expected to come up from.
She is expected to track North East through the UK, generally missing Scotland and N.I with the strong winds, but they could be effected with some rather heavy rain in both areas, according to the GFS. So far England and Wales looks mostly unscathed by heavy rain, however that is subject to change depending on Helene's path through the UK and Ireland.
She could be bringing some rather hot weather with her too, it looks like specifically in England where temperatures in the mid twenties look likely right now.
I expect that both Met Éireann and the Met Office would release warnings for this storm, probably along the Eastern areas of Ireland and Western areas of England or Wales. However I'm not qualified to give out warnings, i'm just going off what I see from the GFS. So keep up to date with your local Met Agency.
